I heard once that bad moments don’t make bad mothers. Thank goodness because I’ve had my share of bad moments! But I just keep trying to remind myself that it’s not the circumstances that define you. It’s how you handle those circumstances. So when I was standing calf deep in the mud…freezing…tractor stuck…wanting to cry…I looked around, realized that God allowed me to accomplish what I needed to before I managed to get it stuck, and the tractor was just as happy parked there as it would’ve been at the house. So I thanked Him for giving me enough sense to put on my muck boots and trotted myself back up to a warm fireplace to thaw out.
The people who are unhappy are the ones who have put their faith in someone or something. The people who put their faith in God will never be disappointed and even in difficult circumstances will usually accept that God has a plan and something good will come. So…even when I have bad moments…as long as I hold tight to my faith…they will remain moments…not hours…not days…and certainly not a lifetime!
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord his God, Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.
